Water & My Community is a professional development workshop focusing on hands-on science and math activities using water and its properties as the medium. Experience multi-disciplinary activities that you can do in your classroom to engage your students in the use of science tools and in the nature of science. Part of this PD is an extreme precipitation workshop that the MESS Hall has adapted for use with students. Roleplay as resiliency planners for a fictional city, where you have to consider multiple viewpoints on responding to extreme precipitation. Participating teachers receive a $60 stipend and a chance to have MESS Hall staff bring this grant-funded series into their classrooms.
