The Gulf of Mexico is central to life in our region, from fishing to tourism. Through this program, the MESS Hall will build connections between students and the Gulf. During the 2024-2025 school year, students at 20 elementary schools enjoyed hands-on activities that highlight the life of the Gulf. In the next school year, they will explore how humans interact with the Gulf.
In addition to these hands-on programs, students at several schools will engage in multiple classroom programs explore the properties of water, considering how communities can respond to extreme precipitation events, and create an intervention for improving the environment at their school.

Schools interested in participating can fill out the interest form.
