Make the MESS Hall a part of your home education plans. From homeschool workshops to field trips at our venue, we offer programming to enrich your learner’s science experiences.
Homeschool Programs
We invite young explorers ages 7-12 to take part in our Home School Science Explorations. Students will participate in hands-on lessons designed to foster a life-long love for science. Students will be divided by age group. An older student may, at the educator’s discretion, be placed with younger students if a caregiver requests.
Home School Explorations are drop-off programs during the school year. Students interact with our educators and other students to explore unique topics. These classes are designed to engage, stimulate, encourage, and challenge young children with hands-on exploration using a typical class arrangement.
Classes are held from 9 AM – 1 PM on the listed dates.
Cost per session:
$35 members | $40 nonmembers

Additional information:
- Students will need to bring their own lunch.
- This is a drop-off program.
- This is a classroom program. The MESS Hall exhibits will not be open for exploration.
- While our staff will make every effort to accommodate any special needs of students, we are not trained behavior specialists. If you wish to discuss your child’s needs or address any redirection strategies you use at home with our staff, please schedule a one-on-one conference with an educator at least a week before your child’s next class.
- Please closely review the code of conduct page on the registration form as it outlines behavior expectations so that no students disrupt the class for the rest of the children learning during a session.
- If a student is unable to follow the classroom expectations we will redirect them to a different area so that the other students are able to continue learning without interruption. That student will not be able to attend upcoming sessions.
- Our goal is to provide science experiences for your child that will spark an interest in science and help you cover topics that may be difficult to do in a home setting. While the educators may send some resources home, there will be no testing or other assessments.
Pre-registration is required.
